Predator (commonly sold in the UK as “Predator by Ron”) is a hand-protection and PPE brand best known for leather welding gloves and gauntlets developed in the UK glove-import and distribution sector. The brand is closely associated with Ron Simpson, who worked in industrial glove importing from the early 1980s and later established the business behind the Predator by Ron range; company materials describe the formation of Just 1 Source & Supply in 2010 and the subsequent development and expansion of the Predator by Ron product line, with Ron retiring from day-to-day involvement in 2017 while remaining connected to the business. For UK welding and fabrication professionals, Predator’s relevance is primarily as a widely stocked glove range used for MIG/MAG and TIG processes and for general fabrication handling where heat, abrasion and puncture risks are present. Core categories include MIG welding gauntlets, TIG welding gauntlets (including “Signature” variants), rigger gloves, drivers gloves and knitted/coated handling and cut-resistant styles sold under sub-ranges such as Coloursafe, as well as other grip and task-specific work gloves. In the UK market the brand is typically supplied through industrial safety and welding distributors rather than direct-to-end-user channels, and it is commonly listed by UK welding suppliers and PPE retailers as an available glove line for trade customers.
