The ESAB 1550167730 Tubrodur GM60 is a 1.6mm metal cored gas hardfacing MIG wire, supplied on a 16kg spool. Designed for severe abrasion resistance, it achieves a hardness of 60HRc (650HV). Unlike solid wires, this cored wire uses a mild steel sheath with alloy in the core, making it more cost-effective and easier to produce. It offers a higher deposition rate, providing a dual advantage of reduced cost and improved performance compared to traditional solid MIG wires.

ESAB OK Tubrodur 60 G M Flux Cored Hard Facing Wire is a high deposition wire for severe abrasion resistance, like a solid wire this wire is used with a shielding gas. The deposit gives a Hardness of 60HRc or around 650HV 

The most common process to carry out hardfacing is MIG welding and solid wires to give this level of weld metal hardness are fairly common. One drawback of MIG wires, is with the alloying elements within the wire, for this hardness is that they are difficult to draw and hence expensive

A more cost effective way is to use cored wires. The alloy is in the core with a mild steel sheath so it is like drawing a normal mild steel MIG wire, so reducing cost. This is substantially cheaper than the solid wire and has a higher deposition rate, so a double benefit
