Cebora is an Italian manufacturer of welding and cutting equipment whose origins trace back to 1954, when entrepreneur Emiliano Generali established C.E.B. (Costruzioni Elettromeccaniche Bolognesi) in the Bologna area, initially producing battery chargers and basic stick (SMAW/MMA) welding sets. In 1963, C.E.B. merged with a second Generali business (O.R.A., founded in 1958) and the combined company took the name Cebora. Through the 1980s the firm expanded its welding portfolio (including a takeover of the MIG specialist “Special Car” in the early 1980s) and became known for compact inverter-based equipment and for developing portable MIG/MAG and plasma systems; today Cebora operates as a group with a welding and cutting division and additional activities in wheels/castors and automation (including Gefra Automazione, acquired in 2014).
From a UK welding and fabrication perspective, Cebora is relevant primarily as an established European brand supplying mainstream arc-welding and cutting processes used across general fabrication, maintenance, and automotive repair. Its core product categories include MIG/MAG welders (including synergic and pulse-capable models), TIG (DC and AC/DC), MMA/SMAW inverters, spot-welding/repair “spotters,” and plasma cutting systems, alongside torches, consumables and accessories. In the UK market, Cebora machines are sold through welding distributors and retailers, and the brand is supported via a dedicated “Cebora UK” operation run as a division of Weldfast UK, reflecting an organised distribution and support presence aimed at UK and Ireland customers.
